Jake's First Fish - Lilly Lake

So I've taken Jake fishing a few times now, but up until this last trip, we haven't been able to catch one. We passed a small lake on the way down called Lilly Lake. We only had 15 minutes, but we threw the line in anyways. Jake was able to catch his first fish. He reeled it in all by himself. Hopefully this is the first of many fish.

Bald Mountain Hike

Another view of the Bald Mountain hike

Bald Mountain Hike

Supposedly, this last Tuesday was supposed to be the last good hiking day of the year. We decided to go up and hike Bald Mountain in the Uintas. You can tell I didn't spend a whole lot of time adjusting the camera, but you can at least see us, right? I you look closely you can see the lakes in the background.

Denice & Zeke

Here is Denice and Zeke at Triple Falls

Here is Triple Falls

Triple Falls, Oregon

Here recently I was able to go up to Oregon to see Denice and her family. She was nice enough to take us up to Triple Falls. The hike was beautiful. The trail actually went behind one of the falls. Here is Dad & Mom Rasmussen.

4 Wheeler Ride

Here Uncle Bret is taking all of his nephews and his niece on a 4 wheeler ride. This picture was taken at Grandma and Grandpa Seamons' house in Burley.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House

Late this summer we were able to go to the open house at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. We went with our friends the Landivars. The temple is beautiful as you can tell by the picture.

Sliding Rock

We were able to take Jake and Gavin up to Sliding Rock in Alpine. I has been a good 15 years since I've been up there. The water was just as cold as I remember it. Good thing it was such a hot day. Even Gavin went down once with Daddy. The picture shows Shawna and Jake about to go in the pool.

Summer Time Fun

Okay, I have some catching up to do. I'll post some pictures from the summer since it is apparently over now. The first pictures are from a fishing trip up to Tibble Fork with Grandma and Grandpa Rasmussen (along with everyone else in Utah County). Unfortunately, we didn't catch any fish, but we did have a lot of fun.

Here is an updated picture of the family.  Kim was nice enough to take some pictures of the family at Wheeler Farm.
I know it's been a long time.  I'll try to do better.  This weekend was Fathers & Sons.  I decided to try to be brave and bring both Jacob and Gavin.  Not the best of ideas.  Gavin ended up going home at 4:45 in the morning after waking up screaming and I couldn't calm him down.  Luckily home was less than 45 minutes away.  I took him home and was back by the time the early risers were starting to get up.

Jacob had a blast.  He was able to run around with all of the kids.  His favorite part was roasting marshmallows.  Imagine that.

Even though it was a rough morning, we had a lot of fun.

Sugar Bowl

Okay, so I really spoiled myself and went to the Sugar bowl in New Orleans. I went down with Grandma Rasmussen, my mom and dad (good old family trip).
The game was amazing. I went hopeful for a victory, but was more than spoiled with the best game I have ever been to. Who knows when we'll be able to see a game like that again.

Shawna spent the New Year in Bear Lake with the Seamons.

One of the places we ate at was called Crazy Lobster. They had what they called a seafood bucket where they brought out all of this seafood all in a big bowl. Here are the before and after pictures of the bowl. I spilled Dr. Pepper on my pants just as we were leaving so it looked like I peed my pants. At least this time it was just Dr. Pepper.

Christmas 2008 (2)

Jake and Gavin were able to see Great Grandma and Grandpa Seamons at the yearly get together at the Burley church.

Food was really good, and Shawna was able to beat me at one on one in basketball, again, but what else is new?

Christmas 2008

Christmas this year was spent at the Seamons house up in Burley. Seems like it was a blizzard up there the entire time we were there. Several cars got stuck in the drifts in front of the house.
As far as presents go, Jake got a race track for all of his cars, and Gavin got a Diego Big Wheel. Jake of course loved his track. Gavin likes his big wheel too, but his legs aren't quite long enough yet to reach the pedals. For now he just scoots around.
